Dr. Jesse Pasternak is a veterinarian at Pasternak Veterinary Center, where he provides compassionate, individualized care with an emphasis on both Western and integrative medicine. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Missouri in 2015 and went on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George’s University, Grenada, completing his clinical training at Virginia Tech and graduating in June 2025.

Spent 6 months going to this vet often last year from February to September 2023 with my dog who got diagnosed with cancer. He had never been to the vet expect as a puppy. I opted to take him to a holistic vet, rather than an oncologist. This vet gave me six great months with my dog. Was the first vet experience with an animals that didn’t leave me questioning my self. Pasternak might be a little quirky but he loves animals and I prefer vets like that. Opened my mind to holistically treating not only my pets but myself I love that walk ins are an option because most vets don’t do that. Made it easy when my dog had a bad day to bring him in. I love the front house they were always nice unlike other vets I’ve been too.

Dr. Pasternak and his staff are absolutely wonderful. We brought our dog Bowie in as a complicated case and very sick about a month ago. We were told by a specialist at MASH that our sweet boy had max 2 months to live, so we wanted to see someone who practices both holistic and traditional medicine to make him as comfortable as possible for whatever time he has left. Dr. Pasternak’s treatment approach so far is doing wonders- Bowie has energy, a great appetite, and is looking better than he has in several weeks. Time will tell, but in the meantime we are so grateful for this vet and his team! He’s kind, patient, thorough, thoughtful and incredibly well versed/researched in what he does. For those who left reviews about his demeanor- maybe he’s an excellent vet because he likes animals more than people! I know I do. Regardless we disagree with you. He’s lovely!
